Hazel Wilhelm Stirewalt, 81, of Charlotte died on February 2, 2013 at home. She was born in Landis, N.C. to the late Lawson and Edith Wilhelm on August 27, 1931 , the last of six children. She was preceded in death by brothers Brady and Clemson University Baseball Coach Bill Wilhelm; sisters, Virginia Deal and Nita McCall. Survivors are sister, Thelma Price, Landis, N.C.; sister-in- law, Sarah Wilhelm, Clemson, S.C.; brother-in-law, Bittle Deal, China Grove, N.C. Hazel was employed for 20 years by Chick-Fil-A in SouthPark Shopping Center and enjoyed the interaction with many customers who gave her the title of "Miss Chick-Fil-A." Hazel is survived by her husband of 58 years, Glenn E. Stirewalt. Her major accomplishment in life was raising five great children, who also survive her. They are: Lori Worsman of Charlotte; Patricia (Phil) Coyne of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Teresa Fant (Mike) of Panama City Beach, FL; Brian and Brent (Dee Dee) Stirewalt of Charlotte. Eleven grandchildren and one great grandson survive. They are: Matthew (Lauren) and Lesley Worsman; Chad and Adam Coyne; Heather, Sean and Taylor Fant; Brandon, Brittany and Daniel Stirewalt; Blake Stirewalt; Bryce Worsman, her 11 month old great-grandson. Hazel was a charter member of Incarnation Lutheran Church (now The Well in Pineville) and recently became a member of Living Saviour Lutheran Church on Carmel Road in Charlotte. A funeral service will be held on February 6, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at McEwen Chapel, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, N.C. with Pastor J. A. Harbinson officiating, followed by interment in the Sharon Mausoleum. Visitation of family and friends wiil take place from 1:OOp.m.-2:OOp.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice .
