Harry Small Miller III

Terry was born in Siler City, NC on January 10, 1951, to father Harry Small Miller, Jr and mother Lucile Maury Miller. The oldest of three children, Terry graduated from North Carolina State University, was a Sigma Chi brother and an avid Wolfpack fan. His career in property & casualty insurance began in 1976 with Allstate Insurance Company from which he retired in 2010 having served most of his years as the Regional Claims Manager. Terry moved to Charlotte in 1987.

The joy of Terry’s life was his family. He adored his wife, the former Deborah Pugh, whom he married August 18, 1973. He was also a devoted father and grandfather and the biggest Carolina Panther fan!

Terry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Deborah Pugh Miller; two children, David Wood Miller (Gloria) and Julia Costello (Joe), all of Charlotte; and beloved granddaughters, Camryn, Michaela, Mackenzie and Madison; and step-grandson, Bradley; as well as his brother, Matthew Miller (Susan) of Clayton, NC.

A visitation for Terry is planned for Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 11 am to 12 at the McEwen Funeral Home- Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road. The memorial service will follow immediately at 12 pm. Private interment will be in Sharon Memorial Park.
