Gretchen M. Lewis, 72, passed away Wednesday December 28th at her home in Charlotte. She had a long and distinguished career in retail management until retiring in 2003. She was an avid reader always seeking knowledge but her true passion was travel. Gretchen had visited most of the world and was always excited to plan the next trip. Gretchen eventually had the misfortune of numerous medical issues. Those around her rarely knew what she was dealing with because she always had a positive attitude. She cared more about the people in her company and never complained about the life threatening issues she faced. Those who knew her were always amazed at her kindness and generosity. Gretchen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Randy. She had no other surviving family members. Arrangements are being made for a private memorial service.
