Mr. Gordon Paul Reed (95) of Charlotte died Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his home. He was born September 28, 1925 in Hall County, Georgia to parents Henry Grady and Dora Bernice Irvin Reed.

Mr. Reed is survived by his wife of 71 years, Bernice Reed of Charlotte, daughter Denise Hayes (Craig) of Charlotte, sister Ruth Cooper of Braselton, Georgia and several nieces and nephews whom will cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by his daughter Karen Anne Reed, brothers Charles, Wiley and Edwin Reed and sister Myrtice Simmons.

Mr. Reed retired from the Charlotte Transit System after 36 years of employment. He was a member of Devonshire Baptist Church. He served in the US Army during World War II in the South Pacific.

Funeral service to celebrate the life of Gordon Paul Reed will be held at 1pm on Monday, March 1, 2021 at McEwen Funeral Service chapel with Pastor Glenn Stevenson, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service with immediate burial in Sharon Memorial Park.
