Gerald J. King was a true gentleman, a cherished leader and mentor. He had a thirst for knowledge, contagious smile, unwavering integrity, compassion and dedication to caring for others. Gerald was a caring husband, loving father and devoted family man. He leaves a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known him
Gerald was born on October 2, 1959 to Gloria Calloway King and Curtis Jerome King. On April 27, 1984, Gerald married Jeunita Quinn. Their union was blessed with two children, Oscar and Jarrett.
During his early years, Gerald attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Elementary School and West End High School. He studied Electrical Engineering and played football at the University of Alabama. He also received a degree in Business Management at Montreat College.
Gerald was employed by Bellsouth and later transferred to AT&T where he retired after 42 years as a Project Manager. He also served in the capacity of the National President of Community NETwork-African American Telecommunication’s Professionals of AT&T.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Jeunita Quinn King; father, Curtis J. King and mother, Gloria C. King.
Cherished memories will always be in the hearts of his children, Oscar Courtney King and Jarrett King Davis (Antoine); sister, Kathleen King Harris; grandchildren, Jalana and Aya Davis; nieces, Japonika Quinn and Adria Whitfield; nephews, Satchel Thornton and Jaz Harris; and a host of family members and friends.
A visitation for Gerald will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Crem Srv, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Crem Srv.
