Funny, I was just thinking the other day that I  hadn't run into George in quite awhile; I was accustomed to seeing him regularly at the Y or at Church.  I learned today to my shock and dismay that George passed a year ago. George and I worked together many years ago on a construction law case.  I always admired his calm, friendly demeanor, his humility and his devotion to physical fitness. My condolences to George's children, family and close friends.  I will say a special prayer today that George has found heavenly peace.

I met George through our voluntary activities in ASTM.  His clear thinking and commitment to ecellence in the construction and engineering fields, and his gentlemanly approach to the profession, made him a valuable and much appreciated mentor and colleague.  He will be missed by his friends in ASTM.

echoing the sentiments of all of these who have said what a gentleman, friend and fine man - I got to know George when he was at Lee Construction ( 1980 ) and would run into him in neighborhood spots, the Y , and lastly at the Crossnor School Blair Fraley Thrift Store in Linville . George and I were professional colleagues. We worked opposite of each other and also on the same team on numerous cases over the past 16 years. George was always kind, attentive, caring and willing to consider my positions, even when we disagreed. I will miss George and he will be missed by our small "family" in the construction industry that he loved. My thoughts and prayers go to out to all of his family and friends.

! George, We are going to miss you!The many Saturday runs training for the Cooper River Bridge Run or the Charlotte Observer 10K race. Always competitive and liked to win!My thoughts go back to his black Lab that we always called "Black Dog" that would always take a run with us. Another such memory was painting Brian's jeep in the driveway or going on a ski trip to West Virginia. Fun, yes!!!! many laughs along the journey of life. George was a gentleman and I am proud to say my friend. Since 1983 when I went to work for him, we have worked on many projects together. George was  a professional in every way. He always kept in touch and when we talked he always talked about Brian and Heather. My prayers are with you both.

I worked with George on many construction defect cases in South Carolina.  As a new, young lawyer, and in the many years that followed,  George made the single most positive profound impact on my professional development in this area of the law, helping me become the lawyer i am today.  He was a consummate professional.  His attention to detail was second to none.  He was kind, caring, and a wonderful human being.  Mostly, he was my friend, and he will be missed.

I attended Southern High in Durham  with George and was deeply saddened to find out he has passed. My sympathies to his family. George was a great person back then and I am certain all of his life.

I saw him give back to his industry. I ran into him a few years ago at the YMCA and even though it had been a decade since we had since each other, we had a nice and meaningful conversation. I was lucky enough to have met George through the Bauerlein family several years ago.  He was a kind soul who loved a good laugh and he will be sorely missed.  Rest in peace George.

Jack and I have worked with George as a highway claims consultant many times over the years and, as everyone else that knew him, we considered him a friend. We would talk over lunch or a conference room table about family, friends and, of course, grand children.  He was a really good and kind man and we will miss him.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Mr. McGee was a proud Father and dedicated Grandfather who was fun to be with on snow days and holidays and always had special plans for his little ones. He will be missed my many.  My condolences to the family and hope that the fun memories carry with you during this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of working with George for several years through Ravenel Associates, Inc.  He was one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I have ever met.  George always asked about my daughter and we would talk about children and just life in general.  My sympathies go out to his family.  Bless you, George, and I know that you are in a better place.

George was a wonderful man. My deepest sympathies to the McGee family.  Always caring, always smiling, George loved his kids and grandkids so much. George would make a surprise visits to my office where we would carry on talking about our families and their worldly whereabouts and forget about work for a few brief moments in time. George was a true gentleman and I was lucky to grow up as his next door neighbor.  My daughter also was fortunate enough to have had the pleasure of knowing "Mr. McGee" and he will be missed by us both.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I was honored to work with George and privileged to call him my friend.  I, along with many others, will miss him in both capacities.     My prayers are with and for his family.

George was a special man, loved by many who were touched by his optimism and strength. Sharing his love for his cabin,the mountains, and his family were truly wonderful times. Peace be with you "Jorge Magee."

We first met George at his house in the mountains and after the Jonas Ridge ice storm.   Since that time, we saw George quite frequently in the mountains and went on several hikes with him.  He enjoyed driving his jeep in the mountains and showing "the 35 year-olds" how to bike Mt. Mitchell.

I met George for the first time when I needed help with a construction case involving a large roof.  He was absolutely one of the best and brightest.  He could make the complex issues understandable even to a person like myself.  I will miss George.

He was always remembered as a truly nice cousin in the family and I remember the good times we had whenever he, Joe and I were together. May God bless your family in this time of sorrow.

George was a wonderful person that always took time to ask about my family during every phone conversation.  I am thankful for the privilege of knowing and working with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
