Gaynell Sherrill

Gaynell Little Sherrill, age 83 of Charlotte, wife of the late Herman Ruth Sherrill, passed away December 1, 2013. Born in Catawba County on August 7, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Lee and Amy Lawing Little. Mrs. Sherrill was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in Charlotte, was past president of the United Methodist Women and Ruth Rudisill Circle. She loved her family and friends dearly and had a wonderful relationship with her daughter, Cheri with whom she lived for the past 10 years, during which time they traveled the world together. She also worked with Cheri for almost 20 years in Cheri's business. Mrs. Sherrill had a very kind, loving heart and one of her ministries was bringing homemade bread to people whom she loved. She also had a burdened heart for people who were hungry and in need.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheri Daly of Charlotte, a sister, Elsie Little Kale and her husband, Griffin, “Dip” of Denver; 2 brothers, Melvin Lee Little of Hickory and Clarence Audrey Little of Conover; 3 sisters –in-law, Billie Dove Crenshaw of Atlanta,GA, Willene Little of Denver, and Marie Little of Denver. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends and their little dog, Boaz. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Tommy Curtis Little and Willie Herschel Little.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 4th at 2PM at Christ United Methodist Church, Charlotte, with Pastor Jim Humphries officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 at the church. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Christ United Methodist Church Help Fund, 8020 Bellhaven Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28216.
