Denise Lynne Johnson

Denise Johnson began her life’s journey on October 2, 1962, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born to Clifford Johnson and the late Eleanor O’Malley Johnson. She departed this world Sunday, November 17th, 2024.

Denise graduated from Garinger High School in 1980 in Charlotte, North Carolina. During her high school days she was found to have a talent for sketching and creating poetry. These talents showed in the greeting cards she would make for her friends and family. We have uploaded many of her charcoal sketches to show you her great talent.

Her love for cooking had her take a course in Culinary Arts at Central Piedmont Community College. In her off-hours and she enjoyed reviewing cooking programs on the computer and TV. As a young girl She enjoyed dancing and having fun in the Girl Scouts. Besides art and cooking, Dee felt most valuable when she was able to care for someone. She spent many years as a caretaker to different friends and loved taking care of her mother.

Denise is survived by her husband Eddie Queen; sisters Meg Thompson and Patricia Johnson; brother Joseph Johnson; nieces Amy Thompson Hanks and Sara Harycki.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 beginning at 12pm at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
