He had 5 children (two now deceased), 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. He was a member of University Hills Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Forest Lawn West Funeral and Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Dr. Charlotte, NC 28208. The family will receive guests starting at 12:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
