Cecile grew up in Rock Island, Quebec, Canada, with her parents, two brothers, and three sisters. She graduated from Stanstead College in Quebec.
She met the love of her life, Leo Ells, and they were married on Feb. 19, 1955, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Rock Island, Quebec.
She enjoyed being a military wife and traveling the world with her husband. Together they lovingly raised three children. Cecile and husband, Leo, were active in the Catholic Church throughout their lives.
Her artistic and creative nature was seen in her beautiful sewing and needle craft accomplishments. She loved to relax in the sun and enjoyed retirement in Florida before returning to Charlotte where she lived the last three years of her life. She was always patient and kind and advised listening before speaking.
Cecile was predeceased by her two brothers, John and George; her sister, Monique; and her husband, Leo.
She is survived by her sisters, Huguette Gagnon and Susan Dumas; her children, Sandra, Helena, and David; and her grandchildren, Kathryn, Savannah, Samantha, Patrick, and Elizabeth.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 9th, from 9a.m-10a.m. at the St. Matthew Catholic Church Chapel, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, in Charlotte. Her funeral mass will follow at 10a.m. Rev. Monsignor John J. McSweeney will be the celebrant. Burial will be at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC, at 1p.m.
