Carrie is survived by her parents, Bill and Bobbie Baumgardner of Charlotte; brother Brian (Samantha) Baumgardner, of Huntersville; sister Anna (Brad) Taylor of Athens, GA; and sister Emily (Jason) Walter, of Charleston, SC. She had 5 nieces and nephews: Roane and Flynn Taylor, Gentry and Miller Baumgardner and Rocco Walter.
Carrie graduated East Mecklenburg High School in 1997 and then attended Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. Carrie went on to work for many years in childcare and was adored by all the families she met.
Carrie faced many physical challenges her entire life but was strong, admirable and her faith in Christ sustained her. During Carrie’s early childhood, she was heavily involved with Green Memorial Baptist Church and then later Carmel Baptist Church where she was a member of the youth group, youth choir and worked in the nursery.
Carrie was patient, kind and loving. She lit up every time she saw someone she knew; a true social butterfly who never met a stranger. Carrie loved swimming, going to the beach, playing pool and babysitting. She enjoyed spending her time connecting with others whether through talking on the phone, FaceTime or social media.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Accordius Health for caring for her every day for the last two years.
Due to current COVID-19 health concerns, immediate family members will hold a private service and celebration of her life. You may share a memory at www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/9341215.
