Betty L. Oliver

Betty L. Oliver, 81, of Charlotte,NC passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Born August 28, 1942 in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Mary P. (Newton) Dorsey. She was the wife of the late Boyce Oliver, whom she married June 20, 1959 in Charlotte, NC.

A graduate of Harding High School in Charlotte, she retired from Lowes Hardware 15 years of employment. She was also employed at Anderson Press for 20 plus years.

Betty enjoyed playing Bingo, trips to Myrtle Beach, cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Boyce (Karen) Oliver; daughter-in-law, Carole Oliver; grandchildren, Lauran (Travis) Stump, Michael (Brittany) Oliver, Chris (Kelly) Oliver and Mark Oliver; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Camden, Kaleb, Elan and Masen; beloved friends, Missy McCall and Lisa Mace; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by son, Mike Oliver; siblings, John Dorsey, Martin Dorsey, Ann Broome and Pat Robinson.

A visitation for Betty will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Crem Srv, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Novant Hospice.
