Betty Horton, age 90, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Betty was born May 31, 1931 in Charlotte, NC to the late Charles Sylvester Shell and Ethel Barber Shell. Betty was raised in Barber Junction, NC and attended Cleveland Elementary and high school.
Betty later graduated from Kings College in Charlotte, NC with a degree in accounting. She spent her career at Pic N Pay as Lead Accountant, Secretary and Treasurer for thirty plus years.
Betty loved R&B music and shagging. She will be missed by all.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy Horton. She is survived by her son Mack (Darlene) Hicks; grandchildren Malcolm, Merry, Keith, Stephany and Ashley; five great grandchildren.
