Betty Jo Furr, 85, of Charlotte passed away peacefully on May 11, 2014. She was born in Pineville on December 29, 1928 to the late Malcolm P. and Ollie Hall Hoover. Betty Jo attended two years at Brevard College where she met the love of her life, Walter Lee Furr. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed.
Betty Jo is predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Walter Lee Furr. She is survived by her son, David Furr and wife Pamela; daughter, Connie Furr Soloman and husband Mike and grandchildren, Anne, Charlotte and Richard.
Special thanks to Betty Jo’s caregiver during her final months, Geraldine Jackson and her family and in her final weeks, to Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte.
A private graveside service will be held at Harrison United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harrison United Methodist Church, 15008 Lancaster Hwy., Pineville, NC 28134.
