Mr. BC Privette, 92, of Matthews was called to be with his Lord and Savior Feb 21st 2012, at the home of his son in Marshville, surrounded by his loving family. He was born the son of the late William and Willie Privette on Feb 13, 1920.
BC graduated from Matthews High School in 1940. He proudly served his country during WWII in Italy, and again in the Korean War, as a member of the 10th Mountain Division. He was employed by Southern Bell 42 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America , the Communication Workers of America, and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a faithful member of McKee Rd. Baptist Church. BC loved being outdoors, working his garden, spending time with his family and friends, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Margaret(1997), his brother Dal, his sister Lucy, and his stepson Woody Harrison. He is survived by his children Marie(Fred) Baker of Clover SC, Dawn(Joe)Fincher of Gainesville FL, Billy Privatte and Karen(John)Hildreth of Matthews, Cathy(Sonny)Long of Charlotte, and Mike(Chrissy)Privette of Marshville NC. Grandchildren are Ray and Jim Baker, Amy(Wyley)Ritch, Kim(Donnie)Young, Joi(Glenn)Bass, Chad, Brandon and Bradley Privatte, Kelly(Chris)Jeltrup, Jamie Hildreth, Randi(Mike)Medina, Marshall and Brady Long, and Michael and Matthew Privette. Great-grandchildren are Kaley, Kinsey, Trey, Emily, Brittany, Britt, Wesley, Jadon, Ethan and Cali. Also surviving are beloved brothers Reid, Bill, Hugh and Mahlon Privette, sisters Virginia Rollins, Clydie Miller and Jo Ann Guion, many nieces and nephews, and special friend Pat Smith.
Visitation will be Friday Feb 24th from 6-8pm at McEwen Funeral Home in Mint Hill. The service to celebrate his life will be at McKee Rd. Baptist Church on Saturday at 10am. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn East.
