Barry Lubitz

Barry’s early years were spent in Wilmington, DE, after which his family moved to York, PA. He attended undergrad at Indiana University of PA where he received his BS in accounting in 1980. Barry had an 18 year career with AT&T, after receiving his MBA from UNC Chapel Hill in 1986. Serving in several marketing management positions, he moved his family to Atlanta, GA, Dallas TX, Basking Ridge, NJ and finally to Charlotte in 2003.

Barry always loved sports and spent many years playing recreational basketball. He also was a member of Leadership Charlotte’s Graduating Class of 2006.

Barry is survived by Shirley, his wife of 38 years; his daughters, Andrea and Carly; his parents, Herbert and Joan Lubitz of Providence, RI; his brother, Jeff Chase-Lubitz and his wife April of Providence, RI; his two nephews, Jacob Chase-Lubitz of Providence, RI and Tom Pachter of Philadelphia, PA; his five nieces, Jesse and Lily Chase-Lubitz of Providence, RI, Diana Hill of Atlanta, GA, Shelley Loo of Philadelphia, PA and Jill George of Baltimore, MD; as well as an extended loving family throughout the country.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Sunday, March 25, in the Chapel of Hebrew Cemetery, 1801 Statesville Ave., Charlotte.
