Barbara Catherine Tricebock

Barbara Catherine Tricebock, 80, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on July 7, 2015. Barbara was born December 12, 1934, beloved daughter to the late Lily Maycock and Harold Maycock.

Barbara will be missed by her daughter, Donna Savage, and husband Lee, of Pineville; her son, Ross Tricebock, and wife Julia, of Charlotte; son-in-law, Marshall Haines of Fayetteville, AK; her sister, Ruby Jacob, of Willow Grove, PA; brother, Ross Lucas, of Ottsville, PA; 8 Grandchildren: Frank Savage of Charlotte, Charles Savage and wife Meagan of Fort Mill and Christopher Savage of Pineville, Ali Haines, Victoria Haines and Nathaniel Haines, all of Fayetteville, AK; and Angelina Tricebock and Madeline Tricebock, both of Charlotte; 8 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death in by her daughter, Valerie Haines.

Barbara graduated from Frankfort High School in Philadelphia, PA. She moved to Charlotte in 1959 and raised her family in the South Park area. She was active at All Saints Lutheran, forming strong bonds and creating lifelong memories of group trips to her favorite vacation destination, Myrtle Beach. Every time she went to the beach she said she was going to walk straight into the ocean and walk straight to France. She enjoyed playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards with her grandchildren. Although she lived alone since her youngest moved out she has always had an open door policy, with a revolving welcome of family members living with her for short periods of time. Above all, Barbara loved her children and grandchildren most, instilling in them the confidence to follow their own paths.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held Friday, July 17th, from 6-8p.m. at the McEwen-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18th, at 11a.m. in the funeral home.
