Barbara Ursula Sullivan

Barbara U. Sullivan, 73, of Tega Cay, SC, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. She was born October 21, 1938 in Chicago, IL.

Barbara was the loving wife of 53 years to William M. Sullivan, and the caring mother to her treasured son, William S. Sullivan.

Barbara dedicated her time for 16 years in the Carolinas as a Guardian Ad Litem, assisting distressed children and families; somehow, Barbara also managed a fine career as a top Real Estate Executive, and earned many accolades and awards as a result of her successes.

In addition to her husband and son, Barbara is survived by her grandchildren, whom she adored, Brianna, Katie, and Liam; brothers, James Pold of Chicago, IL, Thomas Pold and wife Elaine of Crest Hill, IL, and John Pold of Charlotte, whom she thoroughly enjoyed; mother-in-law, Judy Sullivan; and numerous wonderful nephews and nieces.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC, at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012.

The family will receive friends on Sat., March 10th from 2-4 p.m.; Sun., March 11th from 2-4 p.m.; and Mon., March 12th from 6-8 p.m. at Harry & Bryant Company, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte.

A graveside service will be held at Crown Memorial Park, 9620 Rodney Street, Pineville, NC following the Mass at St. Matthew’s on Tuesday.

She will be missed forever, and awaiting us in Heaven.
