She was born in Holly Hill, SC on January 25, 1949, a daughter of Neather Shaw of Connecticut and the late James Shaw Jr. and retired from the accounting department at Levi Strauss after more than 20 years.
Survivors include two sons, Damany DeGrant and his wife, Molly of Seattle, WA and Shomari DeGrant and his wife, Nicole of Charlotte, NC along with 5 grandchildren Demauray DeGrant, Akilah DeGrant, Sakari DeGrant, Cameron DeGrant and grandson on the way Kyrie DeGrant.
Other survivors include a brother of Connecticut, Nathaniel “Pete” Shaw and his wife, Wendy and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services are planned for 1:00 pm Saturday, March 8, 2014 at McEwen Derita Chapel with Pastor Jim Lytle officiating. Following the services, family and friends will gather at the funeral home for a continued time of fellowship, food and remembrance.
