Audrey Jean Dougherty

Audrey was born on May, 3, 1935 in Dravosburg, PA to the late Floyd Snider and Ethel Wall Snider and grew up in Liberty Boro, PA. She graduated from McKeesport High School in McKeesport, PA in 1953 and married William H. Dougherty, Jr. (Bud) that summer. In 1967, Audrey, Bud, Debbie and David moved to Charlotte, NC, where Kathy was born in 1968.

Audrey thoroughly enjoyed traveling with the Avondale Presbyterian Church group and was proud of the fact that she had visited 48 of the 50 U.S. states. She also enjoyed playing bunco in her neighborhood and with the church group. She was an avid QVC watcher and her family all benefited from her purchases. She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved entertaining family and friends. Audrey was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her great- grandchildren being her pride and joy.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, former husband William (Bud) Dougherty, brother, Warren Snider, sisters-in-law Linda D. Snider, Virginia D. Mansell(Bob), and Delores D. Steele(Jim) and daughter-in-law, Janet R. Dougherty. Audrey is survived by her children, Debbie Dougherty Woodruff(John), David William Dougherty(Sharon), and Kathy Dougherty Hodges, all of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Michael Dougherty(Kacey) of Land O’ Lakes, FL, Patrick Dougherty(Michelle) of Denver, NC and Ashley F. Johnston(Chris) of Indian Trail, NC; step-grandchildren, Landon Barfoot(Alex), Johnny Woodruff(Ravia), Carrie Hatfield(Matt) and Amy Woodruff; great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Jordan Dougherty, Wyatt and Mason Dougherty and Kyler Johnston; nieces and nephews, Jim Steele, Laurie Reich(Henry), Don Snider(Jeanine), Dan Snider(Julie), and Denise Eisaman(Jerry).

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 1:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210, immediately followed by a visitation from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
