Ashley Hope Ratcliffe went to Heaven on Friday, September 17, 2021. Ashley was 32 years young but brought a lifetime of joy and love to those who knew her. She was a loving wife, daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and best friend to so many.
Ashley was born on March 13, 1989, in Fayetteville, NC. She was raised in Charlotte, NC and graduated from First Assembly School. She was a cheerleader, played on the Girls’ Volleyball team, sang in the school choir, and thoroughly loved the yearly drama productions.
She attended Northside Baptist Church where she accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized. She will be best remembered there for singing, “Happy Birthday Jesus,” at six years old to a packed auditorium.
Ashley had an intense love of travel, all things Disney, scrapbooking, and was an avid reader. Given the opportunity, she would have rescued every animal she saw on the side of the road. She had a kind, loving and caring heart that was never more apparent than during her years as a Child Care Teacher; she was most excited to teach her class of three year-olds to recite The Christmas Story from Luke 2. Children were drawn to Ashley and she to them.
Ashley is survived by her loving husband Jeremy Ratcliffe as well her mother Robin Ayscue, her Uncle Steve Burnette and his wife.
Greeting her in Heaven were her grandparents, Ralph Burnette and Peggy Burnette and her Aunt, Beverly Parker.
Visitation for Ashley will be held at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park on Friday, Sept. 24 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Her Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers Ashley would love for you to make a donation to Make-A-Wish Foundation at www.for-ashley.com; this will help her send a person in need to Disney World, her most favorite place.
