She was born on September 7, 1927 in Louisville, KY and married her late husband, John Ragland Hubbard, Jr. on August 12, 1947 in Louisville. Anna graduated from Pharmacy School at the University of Kentucky. Her pharmacy career began at retail pharmacies in both Louisville and Greensboro. She then became the director of pharmacy at the Masonic Home in Greensboro, NC, where she retired from in 1992.
Upon her retirement, Anna had many favorite past times, including, shopping, genealogy, watching Jeopardy, playing the piano and eating out at restaurants.
Anna's family will miss her independent spirit, her feistiness, as well as her sense of humor. She was never afraid to tell you exactly what she thought.
Anna was small in stature, but had a generous heart.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mint Hill Senior Living that cared for Sue during her three year stay.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Bobby) Hundley and Larry Parke Hubbard; granddaughters, Ashley (Tom) Scott, Allison Garbade, and Zhana Grace Hubbard; and the great grandchildren, that she adored, Junior Garbade, Grady Scott, Blake Scott, and Bailey Scott.
Friends are invited to a visitation Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00pm at McEwen Funeral Service Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Mint Hill, NC 28227. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 11:00am in the Forest Lawn Cemetery 3901 Forest Lawn Drive Greensboro, NC 27455.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region 7845 Little Ave. Charlotte, NC 28226.
