Helen Shackelford, 91 of Charleston, born in Louisburg, NC in 1924 went home to her Lord on Thursday, April 28, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Malone Jackson Aycock and Sallie Bet; her husband of 74 years, John Paul Shackelford; sisters, Ruby Aycock, Ethelene Murray and Louise Murray. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Shackelford; sons, Paul and Sue Shackelford, Steven and Tammy Shackelford; grandchildren, William and Paul Shackelford, John and Matthew Shackelford; great grandson, Owen. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. There will be a visitation at Bartlett Burdette Cox Funeral Home, 513 Tennessee Ave., Charleston on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 6-8pm. Helen will be laid to rest in her hometown of Louisburg, NC on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Oakwood Cemetery.
