Dawn McCarty Shearer

Dawn McCarty Shearer, 61, of Charleston passed away, March 31, 2016. Born March 5, 1955 in Clarksburg, WV to the late William and Mildred McCarty. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, William Shearer. Dawn was a member of the Elizabeth Memorial United Methodist Church , Charleston and enjoyed the beach, car rides with her late husband and most of all spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Erika (Shawn) Schrader of Charleston; grandchildren, Aubrey and Bailey Schrader of Charleston; sister, Debbie (David) Cooper, of Pawleys Island, SC; brother, William (Teresa) McCarty, II, of Hilton Head, SC; niece, Amie Wetmore; nephews, Will McCarty and Dru Cooper; and extended family and friends. A Memorial Service to Honor the Life of Dawn McCarty Shearer will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Elizabeth Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Frank Shomo officiating. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice in her honor.
