Nolan Berton Riser

Nolan Berton (Bert) Riser, 91 of North Prince George, VA passed away on October 11, 2024. He was born in South Carolina on July 9, 1933. He was the son of Nolan and Lottie Frick Riser of Little Mountain, SC.

He served in the Army Signal Corp during the Korean War. Retired from Allied Signal in Hopewell, VA in operations as a pipe fitter. Bert was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Little Mountain, SC., St. Lukes Lutheran Church Columbia, SC and Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Petersburg, VA. Bert loved gardening, nurturing and watching all things grow. He enjoyed being outside "piddling" around and especially loved being with his family.

He is survived by his wife Sarah of 66 years. Children; Cindy Nicol (Jim) of Hopewell, VA, John Riser (Tracy) of Chapin, SC, Grandchildren; Sarah Finch (Jordy), Molly Holden (Jacob), Kayleigh Riser and Evan Riser, Great granddaughter; Emma Holden. He was predeceased by his three sisters Margaret Pool, Mary Boland and Anne Lee Counts all of the Columbia, SC area.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday October 18, 2024 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 531 Church St. Little Mountain, SC 29075. The family will receive guests in the Family Life Center following the graveside service.
