Katherine Ann Herrig was born August 23, 1951 in Storm Lake, Iowa to Earl and Betty (Schramm) Fritz. She passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at her home in Sun Lakes, AZ. She attended Albert City-Truesdale school, graduating in 1969. She then attended Spencer School of Business. On November 28, 1970, she married her high school sweetheart Craig Bryant Herrig. To this union, a son Kyle Bryant was born in 1978 and a daughter Karna Ann in 1981. Kathy spent time working as a bookkeeper and accountant with Mary Ann Diehl Law Office, City of Albert City, and several years at Pleasant View Home. She spent many years active in Albert City Park Board, as a church Sunday School teacher, and assisting in the operations of Herrig Brothers Inc. As a family they enjoyed many vacations, traveling, boating, and skiing. When Kathy retired in 2004, her and Craig took advantage of the opportunity to spend winters in Arizona with their children and grandchildren while returning to Iowa during harvest seasons. In 2015 Kathy made her permanent residence in Sun Lakes, Arizona while enjoying summers north in the cool pines of Munds Park, AZ. She appreciated nothing more than time with her children and four beautiful granddaughters. She loved attending her grandkids events; volleyball, swim, dance, chorus and orchestra concerts, running races, and any other opportunity to be there for her family. She had multiple groups of friends through which she enjoyed; golf, concerts, sporting events, and any other social opportunity. Kathy is survived by her son Kyle and his wife Kim Herrig and their daughters Alaina (11) and Malia (9) of Chandler, AZ, her daughter Karna and her husband Thomas Tate and their daughters Kai (12) and Pre (10) of Scottsdale, AZ, her brother David Fritz, her sister Connie Durst, many other relatives and also the many friendships she has created over the years. Preceded in death by her husband Craig Herrig, parents Earl and Betty Fritz, and brother Donald Fritz.
