Joe was my work partner early in our Amtrak careers. We shared many common interests, machines and hot rods. I will always remember his irrepressible smile and positive countenance. 

Our memories of Joe include fun times at Mary and Steve's 50th Anniversary Celebration, your wedding, holiday parties and our recent trip to Heather and Bill's in ME. Joe was a kind soul who loved his family and would do anything for them. We'll miss you Joe. Love, Lorraine and Steve

My husband will miss his close friendship with Joe. They had so much in common! They enjoyed many afternoons talking, having a drink and sitting in the backyard sharing life, with a snack, lunch or breakfast out! We met Carolynn and Joe as our neighbors in Phoenix and looked forward to their return each fall. May God comfort you and bring His peace and love to all! Joe, you will be missed.. ❤

All your life you have heard about one person or another, “He’d give you the shirt off his back.”  On reflection, it was not true.  And then ... you met Joe — and before long you learned “Here is man who really does do the kinds of things that are needed to help another — others — to get through a day, a week, a season.  Cutting down timber, making short logs, and splitting them into stove lengths for an old fellow  in his early 80s and his wife , year after year, so they could stay in their own home winter upon winter — through the decade until the man, too, passed in his 90s.  And all the while, he had a full time job, while he yet had to cut and split his own, too  for the coming winter.  Meanwhile, if he  learned
Of someone in need or received a call from a friend, his first response was “I’ll be right there — and he would be — unless told, “Slow down: I’m simply calling for tour “how to “ advice!”  Then, soon, you’d hear his tires on the gravel outside your home, peek out and see him, toolbox snd gloves in hand coming to your door...the “shirt-his back” award made manifest.
          I’ll miss you, Brother!

It's difficult to find true friends in life. Joe was a true friend.  I'll miss him!

My sincere sympathy and prayers are with Carolynn and Joe's Family at this difficult time.  Joe was always there for anyone who needed help.  He brought so much love and happiness into Carolynn's life and made it complete.  Fly high with the angels.  You will be missed more than you can ever imagine, my friend.

Joe came into our life for such a short time, but left us with so many wonderful memories.  You will be missed deeply and will always be in our hearts. Our deepest condolences Carolyn to you and your entire family.  May our Lord be with you all  as you go through this difficult time. 

Joe was a great man and a great friend. We loved  getting together and going out to dinner with the two of you. He was John’s best buddy and loved going to the property. Lola adored him. He is now with John I am sure having a blast. My deepest sympathies to you Carey and your whole family. Joe will be greatly missed
