Imogene Baker was born on December 30, 1946 to Ethel and Allan Baker in Jamaica, W.I. She was the youngest of 9 children. Imogene spent 18 years in Jamaica West Indies with her parents until her eldest sister Emily Grant migrated her to London, England. Imogene spent her time in London attending Ealing Technical College, while working as a data typist at Royal Insurance. At the age of 23 Imogene met and fell in love with her first love Franklin Timothy and they welcomed her first child Michelle Andrea Timothy. At the age of 26 Imogene then migrated to Brooklyn New York where she spent the majority of her life prior to moving to Queen Creek, Arizona where she resided with Michelle. After migrating to Brooklyn she began working for McGibbons School of Motor Vehicles and then later started her Paralegal career at Home Insurance Company in New York, NY as a Paralegal Secretary. Years later she came back in touch with a childhood friend Albert Lee Scott who she later married on December 8, 1984. They welcomed their first and only child Monica Lee Scott. As a devoted mother and wife, Imogene found it in her heart to later migrate 3 of her step daughters from Jamaica, W.I. to Brooklyn, NY.
Imogene worked hard throughout the years to make a better life for her husband and children, but she always continued and maintained positive friendships which have lasted to this very day. As an Eastern Star Imogene devoted her time to her community, helping others and continuing to serve GOD. Upon ending her Paralegal Career in the early 90s she then became a Home Attendant care taker for the elderly. She loved to help others in need and take care of those less fortunate. Above all she adored her children Michelle and Monica. She never missed a graduation, prom, talent show, wedding or any special event in their life. She made sure to guide them and teach them how to become independent women, good wives and amazing mothers. She truly loved and adored her son in law Victor Lovett who was there until she took her very last breath and was called to the Lord. Her children Michelle and Monica meant the world to her and she would do any and everything for them.
Transitioning from Brooklyn NY, to Queen Creek, AZ was a very tough decision for Imogene, because although very ill she did not want to leave New York behind. She battled with Sickle Cell Anemia all her life but within the last six years developed Hemolytic Anemia, Kidney Failure, and Respiratory conditions which led to the cause of her passing. Her children Michelle and Monica took care of their mother from the very start of her ailments until the closing of her eyes. There was never a time where they left her side. Imogene has been known by many of her friends as Imo, Jeanie, Ms. B., Jean and Dude. Imogene was preceded in death by her 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
She leaves to cherish her beloved memory her sister Lucille Boothe, loving daughters Michelle Lovett and Monica Scott, Son-in-law Victor Lovett, her nieces and nephews, best friends and extended family.
