Ervin D. Van Brocklin, 90, of Chandler, AZ died on Sunday July 7, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 10:00 am at Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler, AZ with Pastor Glenn Zorb officiating. Burial will be at Valley of the Sun Cemetery in Chandler, AZ.

Ervin D Van Brocklin (Van / Bud) was born on January 8, 1923, to Dwight and Bessie (Darnell) Van Brocklin on their family farm in rural Lansing, IA. He married Dorothy M Uren in Lansing, IA. Ervin had multiple jobs throughout his life including Janitorial in Schools, State Highway Departments, San Francisco Baker and Hamilton, Air Stream trailers, Robert Christ Mobile Home service to name a few.

He enjoyed working on the farm; fieldwork with the tractors, raising the calves. He had a love of all animals, especially their two dogs Misty and Candy. Spending time with his children, Grand children, Great Grand children, and Great Great Grand children.

Ervin is survived by two sons Thomas Van Brocklin of Woodland, CA and Steven Van Brocklin of Romance, AR. Three daughters Gloria Mlakar of Portola, CA, Patty Renoll of Chandler, AZ and Michele Anderson of Phoenix, AZ. A brother Robert Van Brocklin of Lansing, IA, a sister Florence McKee of Lansing, IA. , and a half-brother Joe Van Brocklin of New Albin, IA and Step-Mother Dorothy Van Brocklin of New Albin, IA

Ervin was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Uren) Van Brocklin , two daughters, his parents, two brothers, a half-brother, and a grand-daughter, and 3 sisters.

A beautiful life

that came to an end,

he died as he lived,

everyone’s friend.
