Dorothy "Dotty" Ann Studer

Dorothy “Dotty” Ann Studer (née Mattingly), 90, born in Jenks, OK, on Oct 17, 1934 of Laveen, AZ, went home to her Lord and her amazing husband of 40 yrs, Bill, on Thursday, Dec 5, 2024. Dotty shared her last days with her loving family by her side.

Above all in Dotty’s life, family was paramount. Dotty was predeceased by her parents William Alvin Mattingly and Anna Theresa Groden Mattingly, 13 siblings (Julia, Leonard, Carl, William Jr., Bob, Landoll, Charles, Mildred, Roy, Ruth Ellen, Ray Allen, Clara, Margaret), and daughter Robyn Barnes. Dotty was survived by niece Ruth Mitchell; children Melody James (Alan), Jeff Barnes (Sandra), Renee Walker, Ann Marie Schaub, Robert Studer (Cherie); grandchildren: Alena, Destany, Skye, Angel, Brent, Thomas, Jamie, Kimberly, Tajsha, Aaron; great-grandchildren: Jereth, Terran, Brandhi, Adrean, Mieranda, Emilie, Vittoria, Madysen, Connor, Cameron, Lucy, Melieena, Sofia, Alanzo, Charlie, Leah, Olivia, Silver, Winston, Poppy, Cedar, Aaron “Q” IV, Maverick, Eloise; and three great-great grandchildren.

Dotty’s second family was The River of Life Church where she was lovingly known as Mama Dotty to hundreds. Mama Dotty served 35+ yrs as Deacon, Director of Dotty’s Dream Food Store, Prayer Ministry, Drive by Blessings Ministry, solicited equipment and managed the lending of medical equipment and supplies to the needy. Dotty would solicit, gather and deliver donations of clothing to the needy of Concho, AZ. Wherever and whenever the Church had a need, Dotty and Bill were there to help.

Dotty was known as a fish-whisperer, where she astonished fellow anglers with her gentle touch on her micro-mini fishing rod to bring in record-breaking numbers of fish; often to Bill’s frustration as Dotty reeled them in before he could drop his line. Dotty worked tirelessly to provide for her family and extended church family. Dotty would prepare entire holiday dinners for 50+ people and would hold yard sales to benefit anyone who needed financial help.

Dotty will be laid to rest at Valley of the Sun Cemetery, 10940 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248. Graveside service will be at 1pm MST on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
