Camille Annunciata Mason

Camille Annunciata Koenig was born in Chicago on March 30, 1947, to Harrison and Mary (née Sabatini) Koenig. When she was eight, the family moved to Berkeley, Illinois where Camille attended schools in the Hillside school district, graduating from Proviso West High School in 1965.

Following graduation, she worked as a nurses aide at Mother Cabrini hospital in Chicago until her wedding. Camille married Earl Mason, of Rome, New York, on December 10, 1966, at St. Domitilla Church in Hillside, Illinois.

Earl’s time in the U.S. Navy had them living in Virginia Beach, Virginia and China Lake, California. When Earl left the Navy in 1972, the family settled in Carpentersville, Illinois, where they raised their children, Michelle, Mary and Bobby.

Camille was a long-time member of St. Monica Church. She worked at Fyrnetics, Inc. in Elgin, from 1978 to 1980. In 1980, she worked as an executive assistant at Cotter & Company, in Cary, where she stayed until 1998.

Camille and Earl were both volunteer probation officers for Kane County, where they worked with non-violent, first-time offenders.

In 1998, the family moved to Algonquin, Illinois, where Camille became a member of St. Margaret Mary Church. It was also at this time she started working at the Algonquin Library.

Earl, Camille and Mary moved to North Las Vegas, NV in 2001 where they lived until 2017. During this time Camille worked in the accounting department at Quality Mechanical and, upon her retirement, volunteered at Catholic War Veterans at the local VA hospital. Camille and Mary moved to Phoenix in 2017.

Camille loved spending time with family, camping and keeping Italian family traditions. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Mary Lou Walters, nephew, Michael Walters, and brothers-in-law, Eddie Walters and Peter Cappello.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Mason and Mary Mason of Phoenix, her son, Bobby Mason of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, grandchildren Brittany (Cory) Muñoz, of Chandler, and Michael (Britney) Trier II of Goodyear. Great-grandchildren Ryder, Brielle and Sadie Muñoz, and Leighton and Mayson Trier. Her sisters, Pamela Cappello and Patricia Koenig, both of Maricopa, and nephew Eddie Walters, of Maricopa. Her stepmother, Chrysoula Koenig of Janesville, Wisconsin.
