She was born in Oakland, Oklahoma to Opal and L.D. Rogers on March 24, 1935. Barbara lived in Oakland until she graduated high school where her parents dropped her off in Oklahoma City to start her life. After a blind date set up by her friend Doris Barbara met her future husband Gayle Shuman. Gayle and Barbara married August 13, 1955 where they remained married until Gayle`s passing in 2004.
Barbara loved reading the newspaper. Even as a young girl she would ask her parents for the newspaper so she could read it cover to cover. As she Aged that is one thing she never lost her love for.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Opal and L.D., and she will be missed by many and remembered fondly.
In lieu of flowers her loved ones have asked for donations to organizations that were close to Barbara`s heart the humane society and salvation army.
