Alfred J. Sans Souci succumbed to a long, courageous battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s on August 22nd, 2021. He is survived by his wife Elaine, his children Monique Menard, Darryl Sans Souci, J’aime Nowak and his sister Inez Fredericks of Washington D.C. He was preceded in death by his son Joel. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He graduated from Providence College, and proudly served in the U.S. Army and National Guard. His love of the law and penchant for debate were the cornerstones of his personality. He was always a risk taker with a quick wit and a sharp tongue. To all who knew and loved him he was, without a doubt, an unforgettable American Original!
A Celebration of Alfred’s life will be held on September 12th from 4pm-7pm (open house style) at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd. Chandler, AZ 85248. His Mass will be the next morning, September 13th at 10am at St Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church 3450 W. Ray Rd Chandler, AZ 85226. Military honors will be immediately after the Mass, in the courtyard, followed by a reception in the church hall. In honor of his love of the color, and his famous quote “Blue, blue, God loves you!” we are requesting that those who attend wear something blue.
In lieu of flowers please provide donations to Hospice of the Valley, (HOV.org) who were angels, giving comfort and care to Al at his home, for the last 2 1⁄2 years of his life.
