Mary Frances Burkett

Mary was born March 7, 1928 in Antrim Township, Franklin County, the daughter of Otha Ragan Harbaugh and Elsie Maud Leight.

She married Maynard William Franklin Burkett in November 1942 and celebrated 72 years together prior to his passing in Sept. 2015 and enjoyed many years of traveling together. She is survived by her children: Carol J. Hollenshead (Jack) of Chambersburg, PA and Maynard “Ink” E. Burkett (Cindy) of Gardners, PA. Her much- loved grandchildren: Jody L. Barnett (Ellis) of Chambersburg PA, Dana J. Long (Michael) of Chambersburg PA and Danelle M. Burkett (Partner, Gary Cook Jr.) of Chambersburg PA. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Mary was retired from James River. She loved cooking, crocheting, and being at home taking care of her family and friends. She enjoyed puzzles with her next- door neighbor and anyone else who stopped by.

Services will be held on July 1st, at 10:30 A.M. at Robert L. Hendricks Funeral Home at Park Lawn Cemetery, 3218 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter.
