It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Philip Carl Carollo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and proud resident of St. Bernard. He was the loving husband to Donna Sanzone Carollo for 51 beautiful years. Proud father of Crystal DiBartolo (Devin), Misty McShan and Holly Riviere (Barry). Caring grandfather to Gage DiBartolo, Callie DiBartolo, Lane DiBartolo, Tori McShan, Laiton Serigne, Behr Riviere, Byson Riviere, Layla Riviere and Badger Riviere; great- grandfather to Kyler Pilet; brother to Joan Short (Ronald). He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlo Philip Carollo and Gloria Edgecombe Carollo; his sister Carolyn Thompson.
Born in New Orleans, LA on April 6, 1953. He was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard, LA. He graduated from Chalmette High School in 1971 and went on to establish himself as the owner of ProTouch Body & Fender, a business he dedicated 38 years of his life to. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Philip was a man of many passions. He found solace in the great outdoors, whether it was hunting rabbits or ducks, or crafting intricate duck carvings. An adept pool player, he enjoyed friendly competition with friends and family. However, Philip's greatest source of joy was undoubtedly his family. Married for 51 years, he cherished every moment spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. His unwavering love and devotion enriched the lives of all who knew him. He found fulfillment in his hobbies, particularly in building pirogues and boats. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident in every project he undertook, leaving behind a legacy of skill and passion.
Though he may have left this world, Philip’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering dedication to family and community.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 11:00AM- 1:00PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS.
