Patricia Ann Romero

Patricia Ann Serpas Romero passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the age of 77. She was born in New Orleans, LA on December 8, 1944 to Agnes and Wallace Serpas Sr., and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard, LA. Patricia was a loving sister of Valerie S. Wheat (the late Jerry), Wallace G. Serpas Jr. (Virginia), Valance J. Serpas (Hyacinth) and Justin G. Serpas (Rev. Debra). Caring aunt of Dale M. Pilet, Debra M. Griffin, Ronald Melerine, Alan Melerine, Donna M. Watson, Veronica M. Leach, Dr. Wallace G. Serpas III, Randall J. Serpas, Regina S. Waguespack, Kris M. Wheat, Kelly W. Harris, Krystal S. Buras and Brandon M. Lewis. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace G. Serpas Sr., and Agnes Pape Serpas; her sibling, Adam J. Melerine ( the late Irma); her nieces, Lesa R. Herrod and Debra Herrod.

Patricia worked 37 years with the St. Bernard School Board. She was a devout Catholic recognized with an award for her outstanding dedication of her faith. She participated in many church functions associated with St. Bernard Catholic Church. She loved activities such as The Pumpkin Patch, Seafood Lenten Dinners and Stations of the Cross Walk. Patricia was an active member of the Los Islenos Heritage and Cultural Society of St. Bernard. She was a kind, caring, devoted sister, aunt and friend who was blessed to have a large and loving family. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with friends and family. She will be missed by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 11:00AM- 1:00PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
