LaJean McMahon Stafford passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of the late Spencer Stafford. Loving mother of Mark Stafford (Dawn), Kirk Stafford and Ruth Rucker (Brent). Daughter of the late Charles McMahon and Doris Derks McMahon. Proud grandmother of Lynsey Stafford, Madison Stafford, Brad Rucker, Dylan Rucker and Brooke Umphenour (Bryan). She is also survived and fondly remembered by seven great grandchildren.
LaJean was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Chalmette. She settled in Destrehan following Hurricane Katrina.
Special thanks to Ormond Nursing Care Center and St. Catherine’s Hospice for their professional care and compassion. LaJean will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all of those whose lives she touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA 70043. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:00 AM.
