Janice Marie Quick Nadler a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Mimi and friend went to see her Savior on Thursday, January 2nd. Janice was born February 28, 1942 to Arthur Walter Quick and Louise Roux. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur & Louise Roux Quick, and her dad, James Johanson Sr. She was the cherished wife of 49 years to Kenneth Nadler. She is survived by her five children, Kenneth Jr. (Elizabeth), Carla, Jeffrey (Holly), Darin (Jenny) and Leah. Proud grandmother of Nathan, Presleigh, Mary, Camden, Darin Jr., Madeline and Dylan. Sister of James Johanson Jr. (Susan), Jeanie Lowrey (William) and Janelle Perrone (John). She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Janice was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. She graduated from Holy Angels High School and Our Lady of Holy Cross College. She joined the Marianites of Holy Cross and taught first grade throughout Louisiana and the New Orleans area.
Her life changed when she met the love of her life, Kenneth. She embraced the life of a wife, mother and eventually a grandmother. Being a native New Orleanian, she loved Mardi Gras and passed this joy onto her children. Janice was deeply devoted and involved in her church parishes, St. Mary of the Angels and Our Lady of Lourdes in Violet. In recognition of her dedication, she was presented the Order of St. Louis IX medal from Our Lady of Lourdes. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and continued to teach at St. Louise de Marillac School until hurricane Katrina.
Janice will always be remembered for her patience, loyalty, dedication to her family, her founding faith, her caring and loving spirit, her laughter, her macaroni & forgotten cookies and especially spoiling the grandchildren. She was our pillar of courage and strength, and a wonderful example of what it means to care for others. Rest in peace, dear Janice. The wonderful memories you created will be forever remembered by us all.
Special thanks to Drs. Rene Louapre, Alfred Colfry and George Zacharia and especially to St. Margaret's Hospice for taking this journey with us.
