Elizabeth Potter Rowley

Elizabeth “Betty” Potter Rowley passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born Versailles, LA and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Jack Francis Rowley. Loving mother of Jack F. Rowley, Jr., DDS (Julie). Daughter of the late John Marshall Potter and Elizabeth Riess Potter. Sister of the late Loyl J. Potter, Beverly P. Nunez and Elaine P. Nunez. Proud grandmother of Rebecca Rowley Schoen (Jacob). Great grandmother of Abigail Schoen, Alice Schoen and Jacob Schoen. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Betty, or “Gram” as she was known to her grandchildren, was cherished by her family for the unconditional love and unending devotion she bestowed upon them. The weekly family dinners she prepared and hosted with the most graciousness and attention to detail for over forty years will be sorely missed. Her steadfast dedication to family and piety to God typified her as a quintessential family matriarch.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
