Claudia Casanova

Claudia Marie Perez Casanova passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 65. She was the cherished wife of 49 years to David Wayne Casanova Sr. Loving mother of Crystal Casanova Boyington, Mindy DarDar (Jared), the late David Wayne Casanova Jr. and Gracelyn DelValle (Sige). Daughter of the late Manuel Perez Jr. and Geraldine Perez. Sister of Gregory Perez Sr. (Trudy), Cathy Goutierrez (Tony), Brian Perez and Lorraine Perez. Proud grandmother of Manuel Rendall (Kristina), Kristen LeJeune (Cameron), Tristen Saavedra (Ashley), Jared DarDar Jr., Brooklyn Casanova, Marissa Casanova, Jacob DarDar, Lillian Boyington and Caleb DelValle. Proud great grandmother of Ashton Rendall, Sawyer LeJeune, Kylie Rendall, Hudson LeJeune and Tristen Rohrbacker Jr. Godmother of Gregory Perez Jr., Jennifer Hilkirk and Ericka Scott. Granddaughter of the late Manuel Sr. & Florence Perez and Arthur & Mary Couture. Claudia is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Claudia grew up in Meraux, LA, and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. Throughout her life, Claudia was known for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she found in the simplest pleasures. She loved gathering family and friends for any occasion, always eager to share in the joy of togetherness. A passionate decorator, Claudia took great delight in bringing festive cheer to her home, enhancing every holiday and event with her creative touches. Her true joy came from spending time with family and friends, finding happiness in activities such as gardening, shopping, and caring for those around her. She was deeply devoted to her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored and spoiled with affection. Claudia’s loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring spirit, and laughter made her a beloved presence in the lives of everyone who knew her.

Rest in peace, dear Claudia. Your love and selflessness will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew you. You will be so deeply missed, but the memories you created and the love you shared will remain with us always.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, January 3rd from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Claudia’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
