Audrey Alfonso Penney

Audrey Alfonso Penney passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the age of 73. She was the beloved wife and “wonder woman” to Randall T. Penney for 37 years. Loving stepmother of Dawn Penney and the late Kimberly Penney and Jason Penney. Daughter of the late Willie Alfonso and Gertie Hutchinson Alfonso. Sister of Shirley Assavedo. Proud grandmother of 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Audrey was born on March 18, 1948 in New Orleans, LA. She was a hairdresser and a teacher’s aide at Sebastien Roy School in St. Bernard, LA. She loved to dance, sing, shop and dine out. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Audrey will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her family, friends and all of those whose lives she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the family.
