Albert Jude Torres Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Albert J. “AJ” Torres Sr., age 69, who left us peacefully on November 16, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love for his family was unmatched. Albert was the loving husband to Gerry Torres. Caring father to Jayz Torres, Jerry Torres, Justin Torres and Jesse Torres; grandfather of Amanda, Jessica, Jude, Devin, Dominick, Donavin, Brianne, Mila and Grace; great- grandfather of Kade, Amelya and Rilynn; brother to Dolly, Lulu, Richie and Keith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Vivian Torres; his siblings, Donna, Lou, Betty, Lynn, Wayne and Louis.

Born on March 25, 1955, Albert lived a life filled with adventure and joy, particularly in the great outdoors. A passionate fisherman, hunter, and avid crabber and shrimpers, he found solace and happiness in the natural world. Whether casting a line or spending time on the water, he cherished every moment in nature. Above all, AJ’s greatest pride and joy was his family. His love for his children was only surpassed by the delight he found in being a grandfather and great-grandfather. His warmth, guidance, and wisdom will forever be remembered by his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. He was a man whose kindness, generosity, and strength will leave a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. AJ leaves behind a loving family and countless friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 1:00PM.
