Sandra K. Thompson Foster, age 71, of Lawley, Alabama went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2023 at her home in the presence of her siblings. She was born to Shirley Goggins Thompson and Harold "Sonny" Thompson on May 28, 1952. She grew up in Pea Ridge, Alabama and graduated from Montevallo High School. She retired from Brent Elementary where she worked for many years. She was a devoted Christian and a long time member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; son, Jason and her parents.
She is survived by her brother, Fred Thompson (Anita) and sisters, Tricia Tibbs (Randle) and June Foster (Steve); niece, Dora Newell; nephew, Jacob Thompson; great-niece, Eliza Newell and aunt, Sue Putman (Jerry).
Her family would like to thank the team from Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate services. Many thanks to Dr. John Meigs and Diane Roulaine for providing care for her through the years. They offer very special thanks to Polly O'Neal, Mandy Langford, Mitzi Fancher, Michelle Fancher, Darlene Black, Delois Billingsley and Ann Shepherd for the care and love given to Sandra over the past few months. No words can express the depth of their appreciation to these special ladies.
A visitation for Sandra will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church in Lawley, Alabama followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Richard Bowers, Rev. Tommy Bass, Rev. Tony Latham will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Wallace, Brad Gary, Carey Thompson, Chris Langford, Terry Thompson, Jimmy Kevin Roulaine, and Thad Provost. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Roulaine, Allen Thompson, and Brad Foster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society, which had a very special significance to Sandra.
Sandra's family would like to express their appreciation for all of your thoughts and prayers during this time. They will meet her soon in heaven and their prayer is that you all do the same by accepting the precious gift of salvation.
