April 1, 1966- July 2, 2021
Russell Smitherman, age 55, of Brent, Alabama passed away on July 2, 2021. Russ was born on April 1, 1966. He was a proud father, and grandfather. He was a devoted husband of 35 years. He supported his community through his job as a local lineman with Alabama Power, and by all accounts was one of the hardest working men. He was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church. Russ's kind heart never met a stranger. Some of Russ's most cherished memories were trips to the beach with his family. Russ will be greatly missed by those he left behind- family, friends, and the community he proudly served.
Russ is preceded in death by his wife, Suellen Smitherman, and his son Nathan Wade Smitherman.
He is survived by his parents Larry and Pam Smitherman, his brother Wade (Michelle) Smitherman, his son Blake (Jessica) Smitherman, and his grandson Sylas Smitherman, all from Brent, Alabama. Nieces, Maegan Foley from Demopolis, Alabama and Samantha Foley from Carroltown, Texas. Along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
Graveside service was Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Pineland Memorial Cemetery. Rev Roascoe Kornegay officiated.
