Russell Lambuth Marchant

Russell Lambuth Marchant, age 88, of West Blocton, Alabama, passed away at Bibb Medical Center on Friday, April 19, 2024. He was born December 29,1935, in West Blocton, Bibb County, Alabama, to Clifford C. and V. Havalene (Kornegay) Marchant.

Lambuth graduated from West Blocton High School, served in the US Army, and worked for Alabama Power Company as a Lineman for over forty years and loved his job. He enjoyed numerous hobbies: fishing, rabbit hunting, gardening, beekeeping, syrup making, studying his Bible, and spending time with family, church family and friends. He loved his family dearly and is deeply loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Howard Leslie Marchant; and brother David Lovejoy Marchant.

Lambuth is survived by his wife of 60 years, Caroline Crews Marchant; his son, Mark Russell (Sheila) Marchant of West Blocton; daughter, Melanie Marchant (Dale) Wallace of Centreville; son, Matthew Lloyd (Katie) Marchant of West Blocton, brother Floyd Lester (Lou) Marchant; brother Jacob Timothy (Linda) Marchant; and sister Dovie Annette (Monroe) Duke; grandchildren Cody Russell Marchant, Catelyn Renise Marchant, Cayman Wade Seagle, Luke Thomas Marchant, Jack Crews Marchant and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 1pm at Ada Chapel Bible Methodist Church, 12471 N. Scottsville Rd. West Blocton, AL 35184. The funeral service will be held at 2pm with the interment at George Stewart Cemetery at Ada Chapel. Officiating services are Brother Doug Eads, Brother Cale Manley, and Brother Steve Vernon.

Pallbearers will be Cody Marchant, Cayman Seagle, Derek Duke, Lance Marchant, Greggory Marchant, Todd Osburn, Craig Osburn and Dale Wallace.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bibb Medical Associates, Bibb Medical Center, and Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
