He is survived by his parents, Rodney David and Linda Jo Thompson; grandparents, Ralph and Dolores Wilson; John David Thompson; all of Shelby, Alabama; two brothers, Mitch and Brad Thompson of Birmingham; and one sister, Lisa Phipps of Tuscaloosa.
