Debbie Lynn Kornegay, age 46, of Centreville entered into rest on February 23, 2016 at her residence. Funeral service was held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1 PM at Pineview Baptist Church. Visitation was held from 10 AM to 1 PM with Rockco Funeral Home Centreville directing. Rev. Billy Thompson officiated. Burial was in Pineland Memorial Cemetery. Although Debbie suffered from Muscular Dystrophy she did not let that stop her from living a very full and wonderful life. Some of Debbie's accomplishments included being crowned Ms. Wheelchair Alabama, earning a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama, being a professor at Judson College, and starting and owning her own CPA firm. Debbie touched and inspired everyone she met. She was a loving daughter and friend to so many but her greatest joy was God giving her nieces and a nephew to love. She is survived by her parents, Roy “Knot” and Doris Kornegay of Centreville; brother, Sammy Kornegay (Donna) of Centreville; grandmother, Flora Lee Thompson of Centreville; nieces, Leanna “Bug” Stephens (Ryan) of Centreville; Alyssa “LuLu” Kornegay of Trussville; and Terilyn “T” Kornegay of Centreville; and nephew Sam “Sam Sam” Kornegay of Centreville. Pallbearers were Aaron Hood, Jeff McKinney, Chris Young, Scott Sloan, Shane Wallace, Rick Davis, Ryan Stephens, and Ricky Kinard. Honorary Pallbearers were Sam Kornegay, Mark Kornegay, Chris Terry and a host of extended family members and friends.
