Albert Edward Johnson Jr.

Eddie was born on March 1, 1955 to Albert and Marion "Betty" (Hubbard) Johnson of Green Pond. A 1973 graduate of West Blocton High School, Eddie participated in football and weightlifting and later studied at the University of Alabama Birmingham.

He began working for South Central Bell when he was 18 years old where he proudly built his career of more than 34 years. After his retirement, he served as a consultant and instructor of telecommunications across the southeast.

Eddie wed Romona (West) on December 12, 1980, and they were married for 40 years. Together they had two children, Andi (Andy) Martin and Timothy. Eddie was the proud grandfather of Amelia, Layla, Lukas, and Alexander.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and sister Debi (Greg) Jackson. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and family fondly remember Eddie's quick wit and humor and his love for Alabama football.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
