Walter B. Graham Jr., 99, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at home in Chehalis, Wash. The husband of Mardell (Mullen) Graham. They shared 77 wonderful years of marriage together. He was born June 10, 1917, to Walter and Mildred Graham in Chehalis, where he also graduated from high school.
Walt continued in the family business as a construction engineer, eventually owning and operating W.B. Graham and Sons with his son, Richard. W.B. Graham and Sons served in helping create some of the infrastructure of Lewis and Thurston Counties, including our airports.
He was a longtime member of Chehalis United Methodist Church and Chehalis Masonic Lodge No. 28. Walt enjoyed gardening and in earlier years, fishing. He was known for his great personality and was a very caring and giving man.
Walter is survived by his wife, Mardell at home in Chehalis; sons, Richard (Mary) Graham of Chehalis and Dennis (Cathy) Graham of Seattle; grandchildren, Jeff Graham and Kasci Lawrence of Chehalis, Justin and Andrew Graham of Seattle and Jessica Watson of Menlo Park, Calif., and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Claquato Cemetery, Chehalis, Wash. A reception at Woodland Village Retirement, in Chehalis, will follow the interment service. Memorials donations may be made to The Masonic Lodge.
