Growing up James' family lived in various places before settling in Morton, Wash., where he graduated high school and met his wife of 39 years, Carole. In 1965, he got his pilots license, and purchased his own plane. Flying was a great passion of his. He worked in the saw industry for more than 30 years, which took him all over the world.
In 1972, he married Carole Synder, and in 1974 they had daughter, Christina. He retired from Stihl Northwest in 1995, during his retirement golfing became his new passion. Jim and Carole enjoyed many days on the golf course together and traveling. The other loves of his life were his grandchildren, Caleb and Kaitlyn. They brought him the most joy over the last few years.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Verna, sister, Ann, and his wife of 39 years, Carole. He is survived by his daughter, Christina, grandchildren, Caleb and Kaitlyn of Chehalis, step-daughter, Dori Mettler of Makoti, N.D., brother, Robert Nanney of Cedar City, Utah, sister, Bernice Foote of Onalaska.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30a.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at Sticklin Funeral Chapel in Centralia.
